all the trouble that you give me
We're due to settle tomorrow, but the truth of the matter is, we were supposed to settle yesterday, too, so we'll see. Apparently ANZ can no longer remember how to fill out forms.

I am excited about colours, and textures, and hanging pictures on our walls and having a courtyard. I am obsessed with wall decals, and we visited IKEA last week in anticipation of new shelves and things. So I've been looking at things, inspiration for our awesome new house.

Max freakin' loves them decal things. As for me, I'm unsure. I'm not entirely happy with that stylistic point of concussion that lies somewhere between the Macintosh and IKEA.

I've never been sure about the decals, up until very recently where suddenly I have become all about the decals. I think I like them because they look really cool, but ALSO they are temporary.

I like the sofa. Except it's orange. :/

The underwater wall is awesome. :D

That is part of why the sofa is so awesome! An orange sofa that turns into a bunk bed is A+++

I've with [info]jayabear on this one, although I'm perhaps slightly less anti-orange and slightly more unconvinced-about-orange.
The bunk bed part is really funky (my only practical concern is how much free space you would need around the sofa to convert it).

I'm drawn to both gothic ornateness and minimalistic asthetics. I think my perfect bedroom would be white, a bed with bedside tables, completely hidden walk in robes, and nothing else. My perfect dining room would be filled with intricate ironworking. Come to think of it, I'd probably like two houses, one a gothic/romantic palacial affair, the other a sterile, mostly empty, modular suite.

I am drawn to several styles. I like the houses with cupboards everywhere, nothing cluttering the surfaces, but I also like poky little studies with books up to the ceiling, and my inner emo loves the gothic wrought iron things, like gormengast or similar. And I love bright colours most of all.

Ikea.

Did you see the kitchen in ikea with the white benches and orange tiled wall behind? I loved it, Erin's not so keen. Not that I have a kitchen to tile it with.

As a side note, how good is the restaurant in the new ikea? Everything is so cheap!

And is Ikea spelt Ikea, or all uppercase?

I saw a lot of kitchens on Saturday. I only remember a really red one. And you can totally tile your kitchen, Carolyn would totally be okay with that! Particularly if you paid for it etc.

I don't know how it's spelt, I'm just really excited, I think.

Ikea wrt capitilisation is an intersting topic. It is an acronym, so the British way is to have only the first letter as a capital. However, as a tradename, we should respect the owner and use all capitals.

I prefer Ikea though.

Hmm, I keep hearing of more and more people experiencing ANZ-induced irritations. But yay, new house must be exciting. (c:

Every bank I've heard about recently (and AMP and ING in personal recent experience) is always behind on settlement paperwork. They just don't think hitting the date is that urgent as far as I can make out.
